Remains of Pinay Murdered in Ireland, Jastine Valdez, Arrives for Burial

Jastine Valdez is back home in the Philippines. It may not be the fitting homecoming for the Filipina and her family but it is good that Jastine is finally back home. The young Filipina was murdered in Ireland two weeks ago, attacked and abducted on her way home. Her body was found two days later.

The remains of Jastine Valdez arrived earlier tonight, Wednesday, at Clark International Airport. From there, it will be brought to Jastine Valdez’s hometown in Nueva Vizcaya where she will be buried. Her grieving parents brought their only child home from Ireland.

Jastine Valdez moved to Ireland from the Philippines three years ago for a better life. An only child, she lived with her parents in Enniskerry, about 24 kilometers south of Dublin. She was studying accounting and finance, and worked part-time in a restaurant. On Saturday, May 19th, she left work at around 5 PM and took the bus to Enniskerry. She never got home. Later that night, her parents reported her missing.

Irish police launched a manhunt for her killer, the driver of a black SUV seen abducting a woman near the place where Jastine went missing. He was identified as Mark Hennessy. He was alter killed aftat the wrong place at the wrong a confrontation with police.

Jastine’s body was found later after investigators downloaded the SUV’s satellite tracking data.
