RIP William Thayer Jr.: GMA Director Dead After Collapsing on Set of ‘Onanay’

An assistant director at GMA Network has died of Friday, September 14. Assistant director William Thayer Jr. collapsed on the set of Kapuso drama ‘Onanay’ on Friday morning and later died in hospital.

According to PEP, Thayer was on the set of ‘Onanay’ when he suddenly collapsed. The director was immediately rushed to the Capitol Medical Center in Quezon City where doctors tried to revive him. Thayer was said to be comatose but eventually died later

Aside from his current project ‘Onanay’, Thayer also worked on GMA Network teleseryes Hindi Ko Kayang Iwan Ka, The One That Got Away, Destined To Be Yours, Someone To Watch Over Me, and Little Nanay.

He was also part of movies ‘Diary ng Panget’ and ‘Kimmy Dora: Ang Kiyemeng Prequel’, and was the local first assistant director of the Hollywood movie shot in the Philippines ‘The Bourne Legacy’.

Direk William Thayer Jr. was just 49 years old.
