Silvestre Bello Asks Duterte to Make Him the Next Ombudsman!

Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III really wants to be the next Ombudsman. In fact, Bello admitted that he has already asked President Rodrigo Duterte to make him the next Ombudsman when Conchita Carpio-Morales retires in July.

Bello is one of the applicants / nominees for Ombudsman. Ten names have been submitted to the Judicial and Bar Council (JRC) for its scrutiny for the position. The JBS is tasked to screen all applicants after which it must submit a final list of nominees from which the president will choose the next Ombudsman.

In a television interview on Tuesday, Bello admitted he has personally asked Duterte for the job this early in the selection process.
