The total weekend box office gross includes $220 million from the United States and Canada as Star Wars: The Last Jedi toppled everyone in its path. But, surprisingly, this is only its second biggest weekend opening. Not that anybody’s complaining. Its predecessor, ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ opened to $248 million in December 2015.
