Video of children ganging up on jeepney passengers shocked netizens. The video shows the street children, all probably in their teens, stealing from passengers of a jeepney with one even pulling the hair of one passenger.

The video has since gone viral after being taken by netizen Victor Bagatcholon III last Saturday. According to Bagatcholon, the incident occurred near the corner of EDSA Extension and Macapagal Boulevard in Pasay City. He was inside a taxi when he recorded the video.

Bagatcholon said he saw one of the children stealing food (chichirya) from one of the passengers and another items which looked like a sweater. The street children started begging for change but then resorted to stealing.

“May girl du’n na ano kinuha niya ata parang sweater ata, cardigan tapos aside from that may tsitsirya,” Bagatcholon told GMA News.

The street children concerned have since been apprehended and detained by Pasay police and the DSWD. One of the older kids was the first to be apprehended after which he told police where to find the others.

“‘Yung iba dyan namimigay ng sobre ‘yung mga sobre tapos lalagyan ng parang limos ‘yun ang kinukuha nila. It so happened na ‘yung ibang grupo is nang-agaw ng pagkain dun sa pasahero at siyempre nu’ng ayaw ibigay ay nananakit itong mga bata,” said Sr. Supt. Noel Flores, Pasay Chief of Police.
