‘The Super Parental Guardians’ has just broken the all-time box office record in the Philippines for a local movie. This was announced by Star Cinema today although no box office figures were revealed.

But breaking the all-time box office record means it has surpassed the previous record held by another Vice Ganda and Coco Martin movie, last year’s ‘Beauty and the Bestie’  which raked in a total of P526 million.

It was reported before Christmas that ‘The Super Parental Guardians’, aka TSPG, had already reached the P500 million mark just before the Metro Manila Film Festival 2016 opened. We reported then that TSPG would surely break the record once it is re-released in theaters after the MMFF.

Well, it turns out that we didn’t have to wait until January as ‘The Super Parental Guardians’ continues to draw crowds outside Metro Manila which is not covered by the MMFF.

The current all-time box office record in the Philippines for foreign films is held by ‘Iron Man 3’ with a total of ₱625,843,853. Will TSPG break this as well? Let’s wait and see.
