Typhoon Ompong is still miles away at seas but its strong winds are already battering Cagayan. This just goes to show how strong #OmpongPH is and the extent of damage it can cause.

Videos posted online by residents in Aparri, Cagayan show strong winds and heavy rainfall already being felt in the area even as Typhoon Ompong is still quite far away. It is currently Signal #3 in Cagayan and #Ompong is still around 470 kilometers east of Baler, Aurora when these videos were posted.

Ompong is expected to make landfall in the Cagayan-Isabela area early Saturday morning.

There are predictions that Typhoon Ompong may cause Signal #4 or Signal #5 to be declared in Northern Luzon. After seeing these videos, those predictions seem very real, and possible.
