WATCH Warriors Fans Mock JR Smith with Cheer & MVP Chant in Game 2

The Cavaliers’ JR Smith received a standing ovation from Golden State warriors fans in Game 2. As Smith was introduced to the crowd at Oracle Arena, fans cheered as they ‘acknowledged’ his role in the Warriors’ win in Game 1 of the finals.

After committing one of the biggest blunders in NBA Finals history, JR Smith returned to the Oracle Arena for Game 2 to face an appreciative crowd. And, later, during a free throw, chants of MVP could be heard.

Three days earlier in Game 1, with the score tied at 107 after George Hill’s missed free throw and with 4.5 seconds remaining in regulation, JR Smith got the rebound. But instead of going for the basket for the go ahead shot, Smith dribbled the ball away from the paint and three-point arc thus wasting precious seconds.

LeBron James desperately tried to tell him to make a shot or call a timeout but, later,  Smith was caught on camera mouthing the LeBron he thought they were ahead.

In a post-game interview, JR Smith told reporters he knew the score and was expecting someone else to take a timeout. A day later, however, he finally admitted he got confused.
