#WalangPasok: Classes Suspended Due to Heavy Rain / LPA

A low pressure area (LPA) southeast of Luzon is causing heavy rain in some areas. As a result, the province of Cavite has suspended classes in all levels .


#WalangPasok Cavite governor Boying Remulla suspended classes in all levels, in private and public schools, due to the effects of the LPA, according to ABS CBN News. Non-stop rains overnight has caused some flooding in several parts of the province. More rain may trigger heavier flooding and even landslides in areas prone to such.

According to PAGASA, the LPA is not expected to intensify into a storm but moderate to occasionally heavy rains are expected throughout the day. Most affected will be the provinces of Quezon, Rizal and Laguna as the LPA was located around 75 kilometers southeast of Alabat, Quezon just before daybreak, Tuesday.

The LPA is presently drawing strength from the northeast monsoon, added PAGASA.

The rest of the southern and central Luzon, including Metro Manila, Visayas and the regions of Central Luzon, Mimaropa, and Bicol, and the provinces of Batangas and Cavite. will experience cloudy skies with thunderstorms.

Further, according to the weather bureau, cloudy skies with light rains is expected over the regions of Ilocos, Cordillera and Cagayan Valley. Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms will prevail over Mindanao.
